The awarding of Call of Duty Endowment (CODE) came on Veterans Day which also coincided with the official release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Morning press conference related to this will be held by the CEO of Activision Blizzard, Bobby Kotick, the Newseum, Washington DC

Members of the advisory board include CODE include MG Matthew P. Caulfield (USMC-Ret.), COL Roger Dimsdale (USA-Ret.), RADM Ronne froman (USN-Ret.), CPT Gordon H. Mansfield (USA-Ret.), BG James A. “Spider” Marks (USA-Ret.), GEN Montgomery C. Meigs (USA-Ret.), SFC Steve Robinson (USA-Ret.), BG Harry A. Sieben, Jr.. (USANG-Ret.), MG Craig Whelden (USA-Ret.) and MCPO Maurice Wilson (USN-Ret.).

Kotick said that, “the unemployment rate that hit the veterans should be far below the rate the national average, and no more. How you can expect the people to join in the military when they left when they no longer can return to the free market is supposed to protect them? ”

18% of veterans who have left military service within one to three years now unemployed, according to the survey in 2008 of the Department of Veterans Affairs. Conferment is intended as a sign of support and services to help the former soldiers with their current careers.
